  1. Dietary control and exercise. Don't overeat, eat healthy and get some exercise. This is the absolute basis of any weight loss program.
  2. Herbal Supplements. Get a good herbal supplement. Look for somethign with Acai berry, cayenne, flax seed, gensing and  ginger and Hoodie gordonii. After a bit of reserach I found a product, Slim9, that features all these ingredients.
  3. Join an online support group. There are plenty of great forums, blogs and groups out there to help you lose weight. See my list of weight loss blogs and forums to learn about a few. 
  4. Before and after photos.While the 'before' photos may not be fun take or even look at, they are a great motivator. They also provide context when the 'after'photo!
  5. Get a second opinion. Although you may think you know what's best for your body,its always best to ask for help. Your friends, co-workers and health professional may know something you don't about dieting. For instance, orange juice has the same number of calories as a can of cola, eggs are loaded with choloesterol and milk has trans fat.
  6. Learn to read food labels. Its important to know exactly what you're eating. Take an afternoon to calculate your nutritional needs, and find foods that meet the requirements. Be careful to read the fine print on labels.
  7. Get prepackaged. Find foods you like sold in small or calorie-wise packages. Although they may be more expensive, it makes it much easier to limit yourself to a portion size. You and I both know that bag of chips is never going to be reseales. 
  8. Tell everyone. The more people that know you're on a diet, the harder its going to be for you to fall off the wagon. Tell your family, co-workers and friends. You'll also probably feel a bit guilty if caught going off the diet.
  9. Choose your exercise. Unless you are training for a specific sport or toning a group of muscles, all exercise is more or less equal. Find soemthing you enjoy doing too. It might be jogging, cycling or just walking.
  10. Find fun wayys to get fit. Do crunches during commercial breaks, listen to audio books while you jog, try new and healthy foods. If you can find a way to integrate an enjoyable activity in your exercise, its going to make it much more enjoyable.
